Camp Crew Blog: Memories From Camp…

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Hey there, Julie (pictured above, far left) reporting here from the Camplified road crew! The Camplified 2010 tour ended just over a month ago, and I got to thinking… thought I would share a couple of my favorite memories from this summer at camp!

One of my favorite activities to help out with was the Juicy Juice Relay Race. I spent a lot of time at the Juicy Juice tent overseeing the relay races and applying fake tattoos for the campers. Some kids had Juicy Juice-can tattoos covering their legs, arms and even their faces! They were all so excited to try the new all-natural Sparkling Fruit Juice, available in berry, apple and orange flavors. I never knew that a healthy fruit juice could get kids so pumped up! Hmmm… maybe the kids don’t realize that it’s healthy… shhhh, we’ll keep that one a secret!

While on tour, I also met so many awesome kids that I will never forget! On our first day, while the bands and crew ate lunch at Golden Slipper Camp in Pennsylvania, the girls stood up on their chairs and yelled cute little cheers that they had made up just for Camplified and our very own Thomas Fiss! They were so loud and excited — it was a lot of fun to see how psyched the kids were for us to be there. Talk about a great way to kick off the tour! Thanks Golden Slipper, as well as all the camps that followed for making us feel so welcome!

I already miss all the excitement, live music and fun times, but I will always remember how much fun was had on the 2010 Camplified tour!

*Julie

Beat The Heat At Camp With Juicy Juice!

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Check out this awesome video our Camp Crew put together from our first week at camp! A special shout-out to our friends over at Juicy Juice, the vid features appearances by Thomas Fiss, Michael and Marisa, Rachel Platten and more. And it honestly makes me want to chug about 12 cans of their new Sparkling Fruit Juice. Available in Sparkling Apple, Sparkling Berry and Sparkling Orange, it’s a sweet way to beat the heat this summer! If your mouth is watering for some, too, you’ll have a chance to win a case of 24 cans of Juicy Juice this Friday during our Camplified Freebie Friday giveaway on Twitter. Stay in the loop by following us @Camplified and our friends @JuicyJuiceUSA!

Camp Crew Blog: Hello From The Road!!!

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Hello from the road!!! My name is Holly, and I’m part of the road crew that is bringing Camplified to a camp near you. So far, we have visited seven camps, and every day is so much fun! Not only does the crew help out with the music, setting up the bands and such, but we also bring the activities to life that the campers participate in. Of course, we also make time to jump in the lake and bounce on the trampoline with artists like Josiah Rea.

I spend much of my time helping out at the Penguin Books tent, and my favorite activity to do there is make luggage tags. I’ve been teaching the campers to make luggage tags out of duct tape and everyday the kids get more and more creative! I have seen tags in the shape of guitars, puppies, names, boxes and one girl even made an actual purse. The idea for the luggage tags was inspired by the Penguin book by Robin Palmer, Yours Truly, Lucy B. Parker: Girl Vs. Superstar, because, just like campers, Lucy uses her backpacks and suitcases to travel. Luggage tags not only decorate your bag, but they could save you from losing your bag forever!

I am so excited to see what ideas the campers come up with next. I’ll have to keep you posted… for now, check out some of my personal photos from the tour, below. -Holly
