NEW YORK (June 19, 2012) – Entering its second decade as the definitive VIP concert experience for teens and tweens, the 2012 CAMPLIFIED TOUR is “bigger and better” in its 11th season as it sets to rock more than 30,000 kids in 38 summer camps across the United States by creating a unique and exclusive one-day music festival environment at each stop.
Embraced by Billboard as “Lollapalooza for the Justin Bieber-loving crowd” and declared “a highly anticipated event” by the New York Times, CAMPLIFIED (www.CAMPLIFIED.com) will bring over 20 talented and emerging artists to campers between the ages of 6 and 17, many of whom will be experiencing their first-ever rock concert – in style. CAMPLIFIED creates a daylong interactive fantasy experience that adds a heightened dimension to the traditions that have made summer camp a rite of passage for generations. The six-week tour kicks off July 2 in Ortonville, MI and continues to the East Coast and into the South and Midwest – 11 states for the 11th year!
Teen country star Payton Rae tops the list of touring artists whose participation in a 90-minute concert at each camp is just part of their daily CAMPLIFIED commitment. True to the All Access passes every camper receives, artists not only perform in a 90-minute concert at each camp, but also join campers off stage in sponsor-branded activities throughout the day. The day culminates in post-concert meet-n-greets for up-close-and-personal autograph and picture-taking sessions with artists.
“Being on the CAMPLIFIED Tour is truly an honor for me,” says Rae, whose two CMA Music Festival performances combine with her 6.6 million YouTube views, 140,000 Twitter followers and 68,000 Facebook fans. “When I was younger, I remember going to summer camp and listening to some amazing music. It was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had. I look forward to making special memories with everyone I perform for this summer, as well!”
Other artists to watch along CAMPLIFIED 2012 include Alabama Capital, The Strange Familiar, Ariana and the Rose, Rebecca McGown, and Brandon and Savannah, who will be shooting a TV show along the route.
Trevor Jackson, co-star of the new #1 Disney Channel movie, Let It Shine, will be making a special guest appearance for one day only July 10 at Camp Rolling River in East Rockaway, NY. And Blush, the #1 international girl group sensation, is ticketed to arrive from the Far East for five special guest visits: July 25-28 and Aug. 3 at camps in New Jersey, Maine, and Long Island. More special events along the tour will be announced soon. As an interactive music event, CAMPLIFIED creates a lifelong bond between artists and fans through personal connection, featuring artists on the cusp of stardom. Most recently, CAMPLIFIED helped launch the career of teen pop superstar Cody Simpson.
CAMPLIFIED will have more activities, giveaways, and prizes than ever before. For the second year in a row, campers interested in journalism can be a “Camper Guest Reporter” for the day for popular teen magazine Justine. The CAMPLIFIED crew sets up a “media center” where each camper reporter interviews other campers, artists, counselors and brand representatives, and the content is exclusively posted on Justine’s website for readers to follow. As an added bonus, “Green Screen Photo Booths” allow campers to be photographed in fun, super-imposed scenes they can share with friends and family. All campers also receive an All Access photo pass with codes for music downloads from each artist on the tour.
Sponsoring this year’s CAMPLIFIED tour include Cartoon Network, promoting their Ben10 show with a slip ‘n’ slide human bowling ball; and The Amazing World Of Gumball with create-your-own bandanas. Music gear sponsor Roland will tap artists for world premiere demonstrations of two new products, a portable synthesizer and a compact vocal processor. Similarly, CAMPLIFIED will host a guitar clinic taught by the artist, and The Riff competition, our guitar-centric “riff” on the hit TV series The Voice.
The CAMPLIFIED 2012 Tour is the gateway to a new dimension that will rewrite the traditional boundaries in which CAMPLIFIED has already rocked a generation of campers in its first decade.
“CAMPLIFIED always has been known as a cross-country rock concert tour with branded experiences for campers and deep relationships we establish with the camp directors,” says music executive Aimee Berger, CAMPLIFIED’s founder. “But as we move into our second decade, we’ll be answering the demand to extend that community to the internet in an exclusive, cutting-edge new platform we’ll be introducing in the fall with an array of tech goodies such as social media mechanics and one of the most important new trends in technology, gamification. We’ll have lots more to say as the summer progresses.”
CAMPLIFIED is a win-win experience for everyone – campers, artists and brand sponsors. Campers get a celebrity, music and branded VIP live concert experience, complete with giveaways; emerging bands/artists get to go on tour, perform on a festival stage and build their fan-base; and sponsors get to directly connect their brand with a concentrated audience of teens, tweens, and single-digit-aged kids as well – all tough-to-reach groups during the summer.
“The value added bonus that CAMPLIFIED brings to our camp is twofold,” says Lori Waldman, director of Camp Blue Ridge in Mountain City, GA. “Although we’re a traditional sleep away camp, CAMPLIFIED keeps us current. We blog and Facebook about it all year, so the kids look forward to new artists and brands at camp which their friends at other camps can’t talk about!”
In a music industry constantly trying to find creative ways to market new artists, CAMPLIFIED is a one-of-a-kind tour that fills 135 performance slots and gives emerging artists an unbelievable, cost-effective platform to directly connect with their target audiences, while further developing themselves into true rock stars.
Developed by Aimee Berger and powered by Primary Wave Music (www.PrimaryWaveMusic.com), one of the largest music publishing, marketing and talent management companies in the US, CAMPLIFIED (www.CAMPLIFIED.com) is a summer concert tour unlike any other.
